Supreme Court declines to reinstate Biden administration's latest student loan forgiveness plan

The Justice Department requested the Supreme Court lift an appeals court order that blocked the program for taking effect and the justices declined it.

      The Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected a request to reinstate the Biden administration's latest student loan forgiveness plan.

      The Justice Department requested the Supreme Court lift an order from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit that had blocked the SAVE program from taking effect.

      The court said on Wednesday that it "expects that the Court of Appeals will render its decision with appropriate dispatch."
